Not everyone wants – or needs – to wear a full wig. If you have hair partial hair loss, want to add volume, of just want to change your look, there are several partial hair options available!
Wig Toppers
A wig topper is a partial hair piece designed to match and blend with your natural hair. Where a wig will cover your whole head, a topper only covers the very top of the head. They’re a great option if you have partial hair loss or thinning hair because they can be lighter weight and cooler than a full wig.
If you’re just interested in changing your look, a wig topper is also a great option! You can add volume, bangs, or partial highlights by choosing the right topper.
Wig toppers can be attached with a clip or with adhesives like tape or glue, and once they’re blended with your own hair are undetectable.
Clip-in toppers are made with clips that attach to your natural hair, like the one we have pictured here. Once the piece is in position the clips snap into place to secure it.
You can see how well this piece blends with our client’s natural hair! This fills in the places where she has hair loss, and allows her to go longer between getting her roots colored because it covers her most visible hair roots. Even as her hair grows, the layered shape of this topper will still blend well.

Halo Pieces
A halo is a partial hair piece that surrounds the head, usually attached to a monofilament wire (similar to a fishing line).
A halo is a great option for adding temporary length or volume. Since you can put it on and take it off whenever you want, it doesn’t require the commitment or cost of hair extensions.
Halo pieces and extensions usually sit around the head like a headband and are easy to wear – you can blend them with natural hair or wear them under a hat or head wrap. The pieces we have pictured here can be worn either way, and can either add thickness to your own hair or mimic the appearance of hair underneath a hat if you have no natural hair.
As with a wig topper, halo extensions need to be matched with your natural hair color and texture to be undetectable.
Halo pieces are a great partial hair solution under a hat or a head wrap!
Hats with Attached Hair
If you have short or no hair and want something you can put on easily, a hat with attached hair is convenient and simple. The most common style is a baseball cap, like our picture, but you can find other styles as well.
These are a terrific option for the summer when a full wig may be too hot to wear, or when you’d like a quick option for casual days. No clips or adhesives are required as the hair is attached to the hat – just put it on and go!
You can find these in a variety of colors and lengths, so you can mimic your natural hair or try something completely new.
